Dekker

Der amerikanische Singer/Songwriter Brookln Dekker - besser bekannt unter seinem Nachnamen Moniker, Dekker - hat 3 Alben Slow Reveal veröffentlicht: Chapter One (2020), I Won't Be Your Foe (2022) & Future Ghosts (2024).
In Zusammenarbeit mit dem Berliner Schlagzeuger Stefan Wittich und dem Mixing-/Mastering-Ingenieur Zach Hanson (Bon Iver, The Staves, Whitney) arbeitet Dekker an kohärenter und klarer Indie-Folk-Musik.

Dekker wuchs im Mittleren Westen Amerikas auf und nach fünf Jahren Ehe mit seiner englischen Frau und der anderen Hälfte der Indie-Folk-Band des Paares, Rue Royale, zog das Paar nach Großbritannien, wo sie von 2008 bis 2014 ausgiebig auf dem europäischen Kontinent tourten. Nach einer familienbedingten Pause von der Tournee nahm Brookln 2017 mit seinem alten Freund Lambert die Platte “We Share Phenomena” auf. Dies weckte seinen Appetit, zu schreiben und wieder aufzutreten, was zu “In Parallel” (2018) für Rue Royale führte, bevor er 2019 auf seine Reise in das Land von Dekker aufbrach.

WUK is a 12000-square-metre space of culture, workshops, and social gathering. Located in one of the biggest cultural centres of Europe, it is also at the intersection of artistic practice, labour, and political engagement. WUK offers a cultural space where one can contemplate, discuss, and explore. The former locomotive factory is now home to our four main program areas (music, theatre/dance, children's culture, arts at Kunsthalle Exnergasse:), 150 independent cultural groups and initiatives, and educational and advisory projects. WUK provides a venue as well as organizational support to those interested in art, politics, and social engagement. We offer various opportunities to get involved, including the use of the venue and organization support for social, artistic, or political projects. Active participation, self-management, and grassroots democracy form the basic philosophy of WUK. Our association is driven by our employees, friends, sponsors, artists, and visitors.
