Janet and Brad probably never imagined what such a little “jump to the left“ could lead to. How could they have known that the castle, whose gates the newly engaged couple knock on after a flat tire one night, would turn out to be an extraterrestrial, queer parallel world of a narcissistic and latently violent dictator?

The boss of the illustrious society on the planet Transsexual in the Transylvania galaxy is Frank 'n' Furter, a mad scientist with considerable sex appeal. Thanks to him, Janet and Brad can at least question some of their heteronormative narrow-mindedness. Good thing! But how is Rocky, created in the best Frankenstein style, actually doing with the role of sex object assigned to him by Frank 'n' Furter? How long will Magenta, Riff Raff, and the other castle residents be content to cheer on Frank 'n' Furter and dispose of body parts for him?

The Rocky Horror Show began as a venture on a small studio stage; it was initially a commercial flop in theaters. From day one, however, it was and remains a home and celebration for the queer community. As so often happens, the so-called mainstream took a little longer – but then embraced the musical and film all the more enthusiastically into the canon of absolute cult classics. 50 (!) years after the release of the theatrical version, the Landestheater is now once again saying: Let's do the time warp again!

Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck (English: Tyrolean State Theatre) is the state theatre in Innsbruck, Austria, located near the historic Altstadt (Old Town) section of the city. The theatre is surrounded by Imperial Hofburg, the Hofgarten, and SOWI Faculty of the University of Innsbruck. The main theatre has about 800 seats and the studio theatre in the basement has around 250. Plays, operas, operettas, musicals and dance theatre are performed at the theatre.
