Zucchero (gebürtiger Name Adelmo Fornaciari), einer der besten Vertreter des Rock-Blues in Italien, hat in seiner Karriere mehr als 60 Millionen Tonträger verkauft, davon allein 8 Millionen Exemplare des Albums „Oro, incenso & birra“. Zucchero war nicht nur der erste westliche Künstler, der nach dem Fall der Berliner Mauer im Kreml auftrat, sondern auch der einzige italienische Künstler, der 1994 am Woodstock Festival teilnahm, sowie an allen 46664 Veranstaltungen für Nelson Mandela, dessen Botschafter er ist, und am Freddie Mercury Tribute 1992.

Im Laufe seiner Karriere hat er auf 5 Kontinenten, in 69 Staaten und 650 Städten gespielt, darunter so einzigartige Orte wie Oman, Mauritius, Thaiti, Neukaledonien, Armenien und Neuseeland, um nur einige zu nennen. Im Jahr 2004 trat er in der Royal Albert Hall in einem denkwürdigen Ereignis auf, bei dem er die Bühne mit weltberühmten Gästen wie Luciano Pavarotti, Eric Clapton, Brian May, Solomon Burke und Dolores O’Riordan teilte. Im Jahr 2020 nahm Zucchero zusammen mit einigen der größten Stars der Welt an der weltweiten Live-Übertragung mit dem Titel „One world: Together at Home“ (zur Unterstützung der Weltgesundheitsorganisation im Kampf gegen Covid-19) teil und wurde zum 50. Jahrestag des Welttages der Erde zum Sprecher einer universellen Botschaft, indem er eine brandneue italienische Version von Bonos ‚Let Your Love Be Known‘ vor einem verlassenen Kolosseum spielte. Zucchero schrieb den Text für die italienische Version mit dem Titel „Canta la vita“, während Bono bei der Aufnahme mitwirkte.

Im Jahr 2022 bespielte Zucchero mit seiner „World Wild Tour“ große Live-Bühne, die auch 14 Auftritte in der Arena von Verona umfasste. Er war auch einer der Stars eines besonderen Events, bei dem er mit Eric Clapton in der Waldbühne in Berlin auftrat, und zum zweiten Mal in seiner Karriere eröffnete er eine Show für die Rolling Stones, diesmal in der Veltins-Arena in Gelsenkirchen (Deutschland). Im Jahr 2023 feierte er sein 40-jähriges Bestehen mit zwei Shows unter dem Titel „Amore e Radici“ („Liebe und Wurzeln“) in der RCF-Arena (Campovolo) in seiner Heimatstadt Reggio Emilia, die ihn zum Ehrenbürger ernannte. Im selben Jahr kam der Dokumentarfilm „ZUCCHERO – Sugar Fornaciari“ (Regie: Valentina Zanella und Giangiacomo De Stefano) in die Kinos, während er mit Andrea Bocelli durch Nordeuropa und Amerika tourte. Er war auch ein Überraschungsgast bei der Show von Coldplay im San-Siro-Stadion in Mailand. 2024, anlässlich des 35-jährigen Jubiläums seines berühmten Songs „Overdose (D’Amore)“, startete Zucchero seine „Overdose D’Amore World Tour“. Im vergangenen Juni wurde „Overdose D’amore 2024“, Salmos Version von Zuccheros Klassiker, im Radio und auf digitalen Plattformen veröffentlicht.

Olympiahalle is a multi-purpose arena in Munich, Germany, part of the Olympic Park and close to the Olympic Stadium.

The arena is used for concerts, sporting events, exhibitions or trade fairs. In the past, it served as a part-time home for the defunct ice hockey team EC Hedos München. Olympiahalle opened in 1972 and was the venue for gymnastics and handball events at the 1972 Summer Olympics. The seating capacity for the arena varies from 12,150 up to 14,000.

The current seating capacity will be extended to 15,500 during a massive overhaul that is scheduled to be completed in 2009. A new VIP area, a restaurant and an underground second arena ("Kleine Olympiahalle") with a capacity of up to 4,000 will be integrated in the new complex. The stage area will also be rebuilt, which will contribute to the increased seating capacity and at the same time allow faster access for stage crews, which is very important nowadays.

Olympiahalle also plays hosts to the annual Munich Sixdays, a very popular international track-cycling competition. Several other major international events were held in this venue, including the 1974 and the 1991 World Figure Skating Championships and the 1975 preliminaries of the Ice Hockey World Championships and the 1983, 1993 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championships finals. Important basketball events that were held in Olympiahalle include the Final phase of the 1993 European Basketball Championships, the 1989 and 1999 Euroleague Final Fours.

World Wrestling Entertainment has hosted several house shows in the Olympiahalle since 1992 and most recently on September 27, 2008.

The Olympiahalle played host to the 2007 MTV Europe Music Awards on November 1. This was the last event before the renovation works began.

Tina Turner is the solo artist with the most shows at Olympiahalle, with 23 shows.

Pearl Jam were scheduled to perform during their No Code Tour on November 10, 1996, with The Fastbacks as their opening act, but the show was cancelled.
