Prince Hamlet doesn't know what's happening to him. Only two months ago, his father died, and already his mother has married his uncle Claudius, who is now the new King of Denmark. When the ghost of his dead father appears to him, tells him that he has been treacherously poisoned by his brother Claudius, and demands that he avenge the murder, the prince falls into despair. Unable to act, he becomes entangled in a web of madness and contradictions, role-playing, betrayal, and intrigue. In her production of Shakespeare's world-famous tragedy, Karin Henkel repeatedly resurrects the ghosts of the past. A ceaseless play of appearance and reality. Or non-reality.
