“When it really rains here, it rains...“ Where exactly? Of course: On Lake Wolfgangsee in the Salzkammergut, where the busy landlady Josepha runs an illustrious hotel and guesthouse. In high season, everyone meets here: factory owners from Berlin, beautiful Sigismunds, smart daughters from good families – and even the old Emperor Franz Joseph is said to have been spotted. It goes without saying that a few love affairs pass through this colorful hustle and bustle. But until all the couples have sorted themselves out according to their moods and even the waiter Leopold can be happy about his dismissal, a lot of chaos goes on. As in any good operetta, only one thing helps: bring the champagne!

Austrian singer, actress, and director Ruth Brauer-Kvam makes her directorial debut at the Tyrolean State Theater with Ralph Benatzky's hit 1930 operetta. With plenty of imagination, verve, and a healthy dose of humor, she brings a brilliant ensemble of tipsy hotel guests to the stage. Whether it's a waltz, a love song, or a polka, the best-case scenario is: ladies' choice!

Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck (English: Tyrolean State Theatre) is the state theatre in Innsbruck, Austria, located near the historic Altstadt (Old Town) section of the city. The theatre is surrounded by Imperial Hofburg, the Hofgarten, and SOWI Faculty of the University of Innsbruck. The main theatre has about 800 seats and the studio theatre in the basement has around 250. Plays, operas, operettas, musicals and dance theatre are performed at the theatre.
