Klavierabend - Jean-Efflam Bavouzet
12.03.2026 | 19:30 | Wiener Konzerthaus - Mozartsaal
Performers:
Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, piano
High-calibre piano recital
Jean-Efflam Bavouzet studied at the Paris Conservatoire with Pierre Sancan, won the International Beethoven Competition in Cologne in 1986 and made his debut with the Orchestre de Paris under Georg Solti shortly afterwards. Since then, he has performed worldwide with leading orchestras and conductors.
Between classicism, romanticism and impressionism
At the Wiener Konzerthaus, Bavouzet combines stylistic clarity with imagination: Joseph Haydn's Sonata in A flat major Hob. XVI/46 is characterised by its high technical demands, Robert Schumann's »Faschingsschwank aus Wien« captivates with its richness of colour. The second part of the programme focuses on works by Claude Debussy, including the »Hommage à Haydn«, »Jeux« in Bavouzet's own piano version and the virtuoso twelve Études.
