Musical microorganism
What the four members of the radio.string.quartet create from the classical string quartet line-up is a completely new cosmos. Musically, the quartet moves beyond all genre boundaries of classical, jazz, rock, folk, pop and contemporary music. »The radio.string.quartet's arrangements are the result of teamwork, with all ensemble members contributing their own compositions«, explains violinist Bernie Mallinger. The radio.string.quartet sees itself as a »microorganism in which the individual cells communicate with each other without interfering, resulting in a unique living being of its own«.
Completion of the tetralogy with »aERO«
Since 2020, the radio.string.quartet has been working on a comprehensive »tetralogy« dedicated to the four elements of earth, fire, water and air. Following »Erd« with Roland Neuwirth, »BACH – like waters« and »Les couleurs du feu« in collaboration with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, the final fourth part now follows. Under the title »aERO – four seasons Vol. 1«, the quartet dedicates itself to its musical interpretation of the element of air at the Wiener Konzerthaus.
