Schwanensee

Following Romeo and Juliet in the 2024/25 season, the series of dance classics continues in the Grand Hall with the participation of the Tyrolean Symphony Orchestra Innsbruck. Tchaikovsky's ballet Swan Lake combines one of the most iconic compositions with a fantastical fairytale world. The story of the fragility and power of love in an enchanted setting has captivated audiences worldwide for almost 150 years. Marcel Leemann takes on the beloved subject and, together with the dance ensemble, casts it in a new light.

The Innsbruck version of Swan Lake is largely based on the fairy tale that served as the inspiration for the original from 1877. However, in order to better integrate the story with modern times and to allow for more extensive solo performances by the dance ensemble, some plot twists and characters were added.
