The play seems to have inspired Billy Wilder, Woody Allen, and series like “Sex Education.“ Its theme is the dream of true love, which seems unattainable due to doubt, immaturity, misunderstandings, and social conventions, but is within reach at the right moment. A sensual classic characterized by colorful characters, aphrodisiac language, and surprising erotic sparks.
